Why I use an accountant and not TurboTax (anymore)

For several years I filed with TurboTax. But about three years ago, I decided to change things up and work with a CPA directly. I’ve never looked back.

Here’s why working with a CPA is more valuable for me:

• Specialized advice and expertise

• I have a direct person I can contact and rely on

• For relatively straightforward taxes, I find the cost associated is worth it (especially considering all the back and forth I have with them and advice I receive)

• As a homeowner, there’s an added layer of complexity which I’d rather have a human look at, over software.
