The evolution of storing my bag on flights

It used to be considering winning if you didn’t need to check a bag. Now it’s considering winning (as far as I’m concerned) if your bag fits under your seat.

I wrote about my favorite backpack brand a few weeks ago. The bag I reference for my 3-4 day work trips is the bag I manage to fit under the seat. It’s a tight squeeze, don’t get me wrong, but it works.

Do I board early enough to likely get some overhead bin space? Sure. But the under-the-seat strategy guarantees me a place for my bag. What’s not to love?
