Productivity at work: Part 5

Slack

You’re winning if you’re in Slack.

How I stay productive at work in Slack:

  • Mute channels: You don’t need to follow everything. If it’s important, they’ll tag you.

  • Open Activity in it's own window: Sometimes, teams work off of emoji reactions (yay efficiency), so I need a quick view of what’s happening. The activity, if you will.

  • Keywords: Open your preferences and designate keywords so you can track the stuff that matters to you most.

  • Search: I’ve said it a zillion times, and I’ll say it again: Slack search is the most underrated feature. Search if you can’t find something.
