Emojis at work are just fine

Using emojis in the corporate environment has become the norm. Great, I like that. Think about what Slack has done to the emoji at work. It’s normal to use them in your everyday communication with colleagues.

But! (and hot take incoming)

It’s possible to over-use them.

I think of those Slack messages where all I really see are emojis. I get lost in the message and therefore, become distracted.

I also don’t like when emojis are used to replace words. This is an accessibility issue and may cause confusion for folks using a screen reader.
