Community hack: Part D
Less is more
I think about the onboarding journey a lot. What’s the first thing a member sees? First action they take? How does the space make them feel?
Which leads me to my next hack: You don’t need to show new members everything when they join. Have them discover new components of the community over time.
Giving new members everything is likely going to overwhelm them. Remember, this is a brand new space for them. And second, discovering new parts of the community is part of the experience!
Through self-serve, members can discover and then engage with content most relevant to them.
