Breaking down some truths about work:

1. Career paths are rarely linear: Take it from me; I thought I would be an academic the rest of the my life.

2. A resume isn’t a life story: It’s meant to show highlights of your work, not every twist and turn.

3. Interview the interviewer: Job interviews go both ways. Ask how the company takes care of their employees.

4. Having it all figured out is unrealistic: Interests and goals evolve and change. Give yourself grace.

5. Work/life balance looks different for everyone: For me, it’s all about prioritization, not a strict 50/50 balance.
