3 takeaways from my career pivot

I wouldn't change a thing.

I transitioned from higher education to tech. I learned a lot in that move, including:

  • Skills, skills, skills: Experience is great, but skills are greater, especially if they’re transferrable. I mapped out my skillset and figured out where in tech I could make an impact.

  • Software can be learned: It’s not always about being a ‘technical person.’

  • You’ve done more in your jobs than you think: If you could describe your work experience beyond what would be in the job description, what would you say? Think about the tools you used, numbers you tracked, goals you reached, projects you managed.
